In light of discontinued flight connectivity to Jaisalmer, I Love Jaisalmer spearheaded a first-of-its-kind tourism initiative. 60% of the city’s economy is dependant on tourism, and lack of air connectivity would be a disastrous step. In post-Covid-19 times, the citizens of Jaisalmer and the tourism fraternity came together to face this challenge. ILJ created a concrete plan for flight operations and hosted a series of conversations with the State and Central Government, District Administration, and the Airline company to sign an MoU that ensured flight connectivity to Jaisalmer. This first-of-its-kind Citizen-Airline Partnership eased tourism and brought self-reliance to the city by strengthening its socio-economic ecosystem.
SpiceJet restarted flight operations for routes Delhi-Jaisalmer-Delhi (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and Ahmedabad-Jaisalmer-Ahmedabad (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) starting 12 February 2021. In a constant endeavour to promote tourism and air connectivity to Jaisalmer, I Love Jaisalmer with the support of the district administration and the people of Jaisalmer succeeded in making the initiative successful for post covid tourism.
