Jaisalmer’s walls are decorated with beautiful paintings of wedding art. But, behind this, is a reality. The city is a part of Rajasthan which has one of the lowest adult literacy rates among females in the country.

Under our youth empowerment drives, we came forward to support a social initiative #PehlePadhaiPhirShaadi by Bharat Matrimony (www.bharatmatrimony.com), to enable social change, which is encouraging parents to empower their daughters with the freedom to think, choose and take this life-changing decision between education first over marriage. The initiative created a special Shiksha art inspired by the wedding wall graffiti, which celebrates education over marriages.
Team of our volunteers from Government Girls College Jaisalmer came forward for this initiative. The unique Shiksha art was painted by local artist of Jaisalmer, Pradeep Paniya.
Girls who choose for higher education also stood a chance to be awarded a scholarship, provided by Bharat Matrimony to pursue their dreams.
