Touts are the aggressive sellers and shopkeepers who often try to hustle or cheat tourists in some fashion. This has an adverse effect on the local economy for all residents, as such behaviour soon makes tourists avoid certain destinations where it is known to be prevalent.

Therefore, just ahead of the tourist season, we sponsored billboards for Rajasthan Police, developed an Anti-Tout program and presented it to local police to make the city tout-free. Our volunteers ran sting operations which led to the arrest of over 30 touts. We will be undertaking this project again with a more nuanced approach, to understand the very nature of touts and attempt to solve their problems at the ground level, providing them with better job opportunities so they needn’t resort to such behaviour.
